Dr. Andrew (Andy) Jacks is proud to serve as the principal of Ellis Elementary School, since in July 2024. He is excited to lead the Ellis community and is committed to creating a school where students feel safe, families feel welcome, and staff feel supported.

With more than 25 years in Prince William County Public Schools, Dr. Jacks has served as a elementary classroom teacher, assistant principal, summer school principal, and elementary and middle school principal. He previously led The Nokesville School and Ashland Elementary School. These experiences have reinforced his belief that strong relationships, high expectations, and teamwork are the foundation of a great school.

Dr. Jacks believes families are essential partners in a child’s education. He values the diverse cultures, languages, and experiences that make up the Ellis community and works to ensure families feel respected, heard, and included. He actively seeks family input and believes schools are strongest when communication is clear, welcoming, and two-way.

For teachers and staff, Dr. Jacks believes that when educators are supported, students thrive. He values collaboration, professionalism, and continuous growth, and he strives to build a positive school culture where adults feel trusted, appreciated, and empowered to do meaningful work for students.

Dr. Jacks earned his bachelor’s degree from Grove City College, his master’s degree from George Mason University, and his doctorate from Virginia Tech, all in education and school leadership. While he has been honored for his leadership over the years, he believes the true measure of success is student growth, strong relationships, and a school community that feels connected and proud.

Dr. Jacks welcomes conversation and partnership. Families, staff, and community members are encouraged to reach out with questions, ideas, or concerns at any time. Contact Dr. Jacks via email at [email protected] or by phone at (703) 365-0287 if you have any questions, concerns, or just want to connect.
