Grades 2 and 3 - Fun with Books

Do you remember the story, Melissa Parkington's Beautiful, Beautiful Hair? Melissa wanted to be know for something other than her beautiful hair.  She worked hard to help other children in her neighborhood and at school.  At the mall with her Mom one day, she noticed that she could use her hair to help other children who lost their hair because of treatment for cancer.  It was a hard decision, but Melissa wanted to be know for being a kind and caring person.  Would you say she was Open-Minded and Reflective?  Did she show Respect and have Empathy?
