Ellis 2021-22 Mitigation Strategies
*In addition to the below strategies, custodians are cleaning high priority/high touch areas throughout the school day, hand sanitizer is available, handwashing is available, masks available, signs to encourage healthy behaviors throughout the building. Students and staff are encouraged to stay home, tell the school of exposure to COVID and complete the health screener daily. Below is an overview of mitigation strategies at Ellis.
Classrooms
-Desk shields on student desk in Homeroom
-Hand sanitizer available
-Healthy Habits Signage
-Handwashing/sanitizing for all students and staff between locations/before and after shared activities
-Cleaning/sanitizing as needed throughout the day/high touch surfaces
-Students seated 3-6 feet apart
-Social distancing when not at desk and mask reminders
-Nightly Cleaning
Hallways
-Handwashing/sanitizing for all students and staff between locations
-Hand sanitizer available
-Cleaning as needed throughout the day/high touch surfaces
-Students reminded to walk 6 feet apart
-Social distancing and mask reminders
-Nightly Cleaning
-Signage reminders
Cafeteria
-Staggered lunch schedules
-seated 3-6 feet apart
-Students reminded to line up, stand and walk 6 feet apart
-Students reminded to wear mask as soon as done eating
-Hand Sanitizer available
-Handwashing/sanitizing for all students and staff between locations
-Cafeteria surfaces, tables, seats cleaned and sanitized after each use
-Cleaning/sanitizing as needed throughout the day/high touch surfaces
-Staggered dismissal, throwing out of items
Recess
-Staggered recess schedules
-1 grade level at a time at Recess
-Masks encouraged on playground equipment or when less than 6 feet of distance during activities
- students may wear masks based on their comfort or parent request
-Equipment sanitized throughout the day
-Handwashing/sanitizing for all students and staff between locations
-Hand Sanitizer available
-Students reminded to line up, stand and walk 6 feet apart
-Staggered dismissal from recess
-Podding of students on equipment, blacktop, or field
