This week we have been busy learning a lot of new things! In reading, we have been working on coding our reading. We have codes for important, interesting, favorite, and questions that we have. These codes help us when we are writing about our reading. In math we have been reading and writing 5 digit numbers! We also are working on comparing these numbers. In IB PYP we learned about the Bill of Rights and made our own classroom Bill of Rights. We also started learning about some famous Americans. We have been using a graphic organizer to help us create notes and we have been highlighting important parts. In writing we have been learning about punctuation.
Next week will be another busy week of learning! We will also have a classroom lesson from Mrs. McDonald. In reading we will be learning about context clues. We will be working on what do we do if we don’t know a word while reading. In math we will working on rounding numbers. This is a very difficult topic for students, but we know that our students will get it. In IB PYP we will continue to learn about our famous Americans.
Thursday is back to school night!! It is important that you attend to get information about third grade!
The Cherrydale fundraiser and Ellis Spiritwear sale are both going on this week.
Tuesday we will have our MAP assessment in math.
